But (and it’s a big but!) if visitors click through to your website and find a poor and unprofessional site, research has shown they will click straight back to the search engine and choose another website. This is measured as a website ‘bounce rate’ - a poor website will have an extremely high bounce rating.

Same goes if they can‘t find what they are looking for within the first 30 seconds - back they go! Don’t forget that visitors have a massive choice and the internet can be a very unforgiving place.

A successful business website doesn’t only have to be professional and good looking. Successful websites need to grab the visitor’s attention and hold them there. With clear calls to action, these visitors must be directed to purchase from your website or contact you to enquire about your services.
